The algorithm youtube music uses does a fantastic job figuring out what you want to listen to. Every other music app just plays the same stuff you liked over and over. This one will find new stuff for me that's awesome. And if I don't like it, I can just skip it and it won't play it again. Plus it understands when you're obsessed with a new song, but will tapper off how often it plays it over time. Best music app period. Unless you like to listen to the same stuff over and over.

This app literally has EVERTthing!!! Every type of music from alp the eras, also with tons choices if you want video to go along with your songs, or not. I have noticed that the video versions of the songs often sound a bit quieter in volume, maybe a tad less quality (mostly just volume quality, hd etc), but only some songs are noticeable. If that ever bothers ya, you can just click the "music only" option, which turns the video to a standstill, using the screen as a thumbnail. Great app. 👍

Edit: it is so much better now! Pretty much everything i complained about has now been fixed! This app is truly exhausting to use. I can't close my phone or even go to another app because the music will just stop playing. I literally have to keep my phone screen on while its in my pocket when im trying to listen to music. I only use it because it transferred my playlists over from Google play music. This has been going on ever since they made the changed and they still haven't fixed it.

I listen to music daily for most of the day as a disability aid. YouTube music is the only app I use for music because it's easy to use and easy find exactly the songs you are looking for. It suggests songs that are similar to the one you are listening to, as well as ques a playlist of similar songs already, and has the lyrics on standby if you want to read along with the song (because the lyrics are highlighted and move with the music. very easy to read.) 11/10 Have been using it for years.

Glad to see that youve got it to "play music when checking other apps" feature finally. Now my music keeps playing even when I'm not on YouTube. Update July 18, 2024 Loving the app, just wish that the music I saved to my downloads wouldn't "magically" disappear from my list every time the year starts over. I love the yearly recap, but don't take the music I saved off my list. My memory doesn't remember song titles... Leave my lists alone. And make the lists unlimited please.

Good functionality. But really integrates with your YouTube usage, for better and worse. For myself only, and only for this app, it's actually working: music videos on YouTube that i watched found their way into my "offline mixtape", and so has the algorithm's suggestions. This has helped me rediscover songs that i doubt i ever would have heard again, and introduced me to some pretty cool new stuff. But like all things automatic, expect it to serve up something cringe occasionally.

The app never glitches & it responds quickly. I've had Premium for a year & will never go back! The algorithms they use to create stations, personal mixes, etc. are fantastic and never repeat. I've found more new music on here that I like than any other app. The feature to switch between audio or the song video if applicable is seamless, and I love that my regular YouTube is synced with the music app. You can even save videos as audio, or create stations of multiple artists like Pandora. 10/10

I've had YouTube Music since its inception. It's greatly improved over the past year especially, and now is my go-to source for music about 90% of the time. Its music discovery features are very useful, especially in the abilities it provides for tweaking the blend. Judging the Reddit feed, I guess there's some confusion about some of the features but it all makes sense to me so I'm happy.

Better experience than Spotify both for free and paid subscription. You aren't forced to pay because the ads are tolerable, and you can actually use the app. And paying for a subscription isn't shoved in your face the whole time. The subscription is great value too, I pay for premium and YouTube music is one of my most used apps, I can pick a song and leave it on in the background and still be on the same genre and mood an hour later with autoplay.

Has all the songs I want and is the only music streaming platform I use. I like the smart downloads feature cause it auto rotates some of my downloaded songs based on what music I've been listening to lately, including downloading new songs I haven't really heard that fit with my music taste. Great for plan rides cause I'm too lazy to put things in a playlist to download for later.
